Blakeney
Elevation Blakeney is the next step in our ongoing strategy to reach the city of Charlotte with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Elevation Blakeney will allow us to reach one of the fastest growing areas in the country in a financially smart way. With the success of Kingdom Come and the hand of God, we could have our first Worship Experience there in Dec 2010.
The Vision vs. Strategy
The vision will stay constant but the strategy is fluid. We have currently adopted a multi-site strategy leveraging technology to reach the most people possible. Working with a retail master planner, we have identified strategic locations for future Elevation Campuses. We pursue the following simultaneously that can accommodate the ideal Elevation campus size of 700-1200 seats:
- Portable Campuses
- Warehouse Space (similar to our current Matthews Campus)
- Land/Build
The Blakeney Area in south Charlotte is in our number one target area and is an opportunity only God could provide.
Why Blakeney?
- Demographics. There are over 2,000 homes of people who have visited Elevation within a 5 mile radius of the location and over 1,000 homes of those who are currently volunteering, giving, or in a small group.
- Access. The site is strategically positioned at the intersection of Ardrey Kell Rd. and Rea Rd., with easy access to 485, Providence Rd., and Hwy 521, making it ideal in reaching the surrounding areas.– Location, location, location. It’s in the heart of our #1 target area.
A Good Investment
- Exit Strategy. We are designing the building in a way that it can easily be converted back to office space in the event we outgrow it thus protecting the investment.
- Shared Parking. By being located in a business park, we only need to add approximately 160 parking spaces, (enough for a conversion back to office space) and share the over 1,000 parking spaces that already exist!
- Performing Arts Theater. We have designed the auditorium to allow us to rent it out during the week while not having worship experiences making it the largest performing arts theater in South Charlotte.
The Timeline
Like everything we’ve done at Elevation, we’ve set a God-sized timeline for this project. Is there any other way to do things than to shoot for a goal that can only happen if God adds His super to our natural? We have already begun the process to secure funding in April, provided we are able to purchase the land with cash in February. With a projected 9 month construction and God’s provision, we could move in as early as December of 2010. This will give us the capacity to attain our goal of reaching 10,000 people by the year 2010.
